Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme

VTC Training and Development Centres

Programmes of Vocational Training Council (VTC)

“Relevant working experience is required”. This is a common phrase in the career post. But don’t be put off. For new school leavers who do not yet have any work experience, you can enhance your potential by joining the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme (for school leavers aged between 15 and 19) or Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme (for all young people aged between 15 and 24 with education attainment below university degree level). The former provides pre-employment training and workplace attachment opportunities. The latter provides opportunities of employment, on-the-job support services and allowances for off-the-job vocational training courses.

There are also various vocational education and training programmes of recognised qualifications offered by the Training and Development Centres and the Youth College of the Vocational Training Council (VTC). The VTC also provides training programmes for those with disabilities who want to learn employable skills.
