To be a fireman, candidates who meet the basic requirements are required to pass a series of tests and an interview. Candidates who meet the basic requirements will be invited to attend the Physical Fitness Test and the Job-related Performance Test. Mr Wai reminds candidates to pay more attention to the "Parallel Bar Dip" physical test. Nevertheless, examiners also observe whether candidates are obedient. In the Job-related Performance Test, one of the tasks is "Stair Climb". Candidates are strictly required to keep both feet on the ground whilst retrieving the equipment. During the interview, examiners are eager to know more about candidates' objectives, their reasons for applying for the job, their ambitions in this industry, and also their personality to see if they are suitable for working in the disciplined services. He suggested youngsters should first consider carefully whether he or she is suitable for this job before applications. Firemen should be agile, out-going, disciplined and helpful, also important is the ability to cooperate with others and obedience.
