Launched from the 2012, the new four-year BFA Degree in Drama programme is structured to produce professional practitioners with a vision of the arts in society, and a concern for their importance, relevance, and development. To a rigorous regimen of practical craft-skills work are added conceptually based knowledge of the development of drama, as well as theatre practice, both historical and contemporary, Western and Asian. This is complimented with courses that offer a wider appreciation of the performing arts, liberal arts, humanities and languages. A suite of new courses have also been developed for the four year degree in Screen Acting, Drama and Theatre Education, Physical Theatre, Devising Theatre, Playwriting and Aesthetics. Specialist pathways and Major study areas are currently Acting, Directing and Playwriting and the School welcomes applications for these disciplines.Entry Requirement
The Academy selects applicants for admission on the basis of the General Entrance Requirements specified for the various academic programmes as well as applicants' talents, attainments and relevant training, if any, in the chosen disciplines.
Obtained in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination :
(a) Level 3 or above in English Language and Chinese Language; and
(b) Level 2 or above in Mathematics and Liberal Studies;
(i) Level 2 or above in 1 elective subject; or
(ii) Attained with Distinction in 1 Applied Learning Subject (Subject to the requirements of the respective School.)
