The Associate of Health Studies (AHS) programme aims at preparing students to further their study at Bachelor level and/or pursue a career in health services or become health worker. The programme objectives include:
(i) To broaden students’ perspectives through exposure to a wide range of general education courses which foster their all-round development;
(ii) To enhance students’ ability in health promotion, maintenance and restoration, and prevention of illness through the delivery of primary, secondary and tertiary health care;
(iii) To develop students’ understanding of psychosocial, cultural and environmental dimensions of health and illness;
(iv) To enhance students’ communication skills for delivery of individualized care as well as for facilitation of teamwork;
(v) To provide students with experiential learning opportunities to facilitate integration of theory and practice in their profession;
(i) Have obtained Level 2 for Chinese Language and English Language and Level 2 for Mathematics and Liberal Studies plus one Elective/Applied Learning Subject at Level 2 (“2222+2”) in HKDSE; OR
(ii) Have obtained a pass in one AL subject or passes in two AS subjects in HKALE and five passes in HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
(iii) Have obtained a pass in one AL subject or passes in two AS subjects in HKALE and three passes in HKCEE plus Level 2 for Chinese Language and English Language; OR
(iv) Satisfactory completion (with GPA ≥2.5) of a Pre-Associate Degree Programme; OR
(v) Equivalent qualifications.
