Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Nutrition
This programme aims to provide knowledge in childhood and adolescent nutrition.
This programme has a number of articulation routes to degree level courses in nutrition and provides an opportunity for those who are interested in nutrition to build and develop their nutrition knowledge. It also serves as a continuing professional development for those who are working with or plan to work with children and adolescents such as nurses, teachers, health professionals, school lunch providers.
I. a) hold a bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized university; or
b) hold a Higher Diploma awarded by a recognized institution with at least 2 yrs working experience;or
c) hold an Advanced Certificate in Nutrition awarded within the HKU system through HKU SPACE; and
II. provide evidence of English proficiency, such as:
a) have gained in the HKCEE Grade E or Level 2* in English Language (Syllabus B); or
b) have gained in the HKDSE Level 2 in English Language.
* With effect from 2007, HKU SPACE recognises Grade E previously awarded for English Language (Syllabus B) (Grade C in the case of English Language (Syllabus A)) at HKCEE as an acceptable alternative to Level 2 in English Language subject at HKCEE.
Students with no nutrition background are recommended to take the Advanced Certificate in Nutrition (HS 37-102-00) prior to the commencement of Advanced Certificate in Child and Adolescent Nutrition.
Students with no science background are recommended to take the HKU SPACE Human Biology and Organic Chemistry I/II short courses (HS 37-006-31 and HS 37-006-32) prior to commencing the Advanced Certificate in Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition and Health Promotion / Child and Adolescent Nutrition.
