Financial Assistance for Working Youth

To meet the increasing requirements of the modern world, self-enhancement and on-the-job training is a very common practice to stay competitive. There are numerous self-supporting schemes that provide aid to young people who want to have training in their spare time.

Continuing Education Fund

The Continuing Education Fund (CEF) subsidises adults who aspire to further their education through continuing education and training courses.  Eligible applicants may submit an unlimited number of claims for reimbursement of course fees on successful completion of CEF reimbursable courses up to a maximum sum of HK$25,000.  The co-payment ratios by learners (i.e. the percentage of course fee to be borne by learners) for the first HK$10,000 subsidy is 20% of the course fee and that for the remaining HK$15,000 subsidy is 40% of the course fee.

Sir Edward Youde Memorial Outstanding Apprentice Awards

The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Outstanding Apprentice Awards gives recognition and encouragement to young people who do not proceed through the formal education system but instead continue to pursue their development potential by undertaking a course of technical training and a period of apprenticeship for a designated trade under the Apprenticeship Ordinance.

Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards for Self-improvement for Working Adults

The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards for Self-improvement for Working Adults fosters the spirit of lifelong learning and constant quest for excellence and improvement.

You may also apply for loans under the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme to pay tuition fee.
