Organized by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, the Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition began in 1997 and has now entered its 28th edition. This annual event has become the largest science competition for schools in Hong Kong, attracting over 400 schools and nearly 4,000 participants each year. The competition welcomes participation from primary and secondary school students, teachers and schools across Hong Kong. Categories include Science Fiction Drawing, Research and Invention, STEAM Teacher, STEAM School.
The 28th Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition is sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. This year, a new award, the "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Young Scientist Award," is established to recognize one high school student with exceptional scientific potential. This award offers a cash prize of HK$10,000, selected from the winning projects. The total cash prizes are HK$234,000.
