$10000 Scheme Opens for Application

The Cash Payout Scheme (“the Scheme”) is an initiative announced in the 2020-21 Budget for disbursing HK$10,000 to each Hong Kong permanent resident aged 18 or above.

Eligible persons who have a local Hong Kong dollar savings or current bank account in their sole name with any of the participating retail banks may receive payment through a specified individual account. Electronic registration through the banks provides not only swiftness and convenience, but also a shorter waiting time in receiving the payment. Registration for the Scheme is open until 31 December 2021.

Apart from e-registration, eligible persons may register for the Scheme by submitting a paper registration form according to their respective batch by year of birth (click here for the batching periods for commencing registration). Eligible persons may choose to submit a paper registration form through one of the participating banks and receive payment through a specified individual account, or choose to submit an electronic or a paper registration form to the Hongkong Post and collect an “order cheque”.
