A very poetic and delicate portrait of a family’s extraordinary home project in Europe in the early 1950s. François, a 11-year-old boy is intrigued to find out that his parents are building a boat in their home garden. The boat is supposed to be a replica of the Spray, the legendary sailboat on which the famous sailor Joshua Slocum made the first solo circumnavigation in 1895. This strange yet amazing “journey” will take years to complete and there are ups and downs in between. As the years go by, François drifts from adolescence to adulthood, and too he embarks on his own journey.
