The Cyberport University Partnership Programme provides a life-changing experience!

The Cyberport University Partnership Programme (CUPP) supported by Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) is a life-changing experience to unleash participants’ full potential and gain insights into the global market! This financial technology (FinTech) focused entrepreneurship programme with boot camp, mentorship and competition that aiming at nurturing young FinTech talents for Hong Kong since 2015. The nominated students have unique chance to participate in Overseas Entrepreneurship Boot Camp and receive mentorship from local and international industry elites. The winning teams will receive HK$100,000 grant from CCMF. ​ The Programme offers - A series of FinTech pre-camp nurturing sessions in Hong Kong- An Entrepreneurship Boot Camp by a prestigious overseas university- Mentorship and insight from FinTech industry elites, both local and overseas- Opportunities to pitch innovative FinTech business ideas to investors Admission Requirement - The project must be rooted in digital tech and focus on FinTech, with components in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, etc. - Applicants must be nominated by CUPP co-organising university partners- Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old (inclusive) at the time of the nomination deadline- Applicants must be undergraduate or postgraduate students from CUPP co-organising university partners, either currently enrolled university students or graduated within 3 years from the co-organising universities (i.e. 3 years before the nomination deadline)- Applicants must have a good command of English- Team members could be a mixture of students from different CUPP co-organising universities- Each team could have up to 5 members Prizes Winning teams will receive a grant of HK$100,000 from Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF). MIT Entrepreneurship and FinTech Integrator is a FinTech adventure that will catapult your skillsets!

MIT Entrepreneurship and FinTech Integrator (MEFTI) is a FinTech venture-building boot camp for MIT and Hong Kong students who are ready to make industry impact. Students from MIT and universities in Hong Kong will form teams, tackle real-world industry challenges, and build a FinTech venture pitch with a viable business model. In this intensive experience, participants will  - Learn about emerging trends across different FinTech sectors- Gain insights into how the financial services industry has been transformed- Understand how frontier technologies, including distributed ledger technology and artificial intelligence, are redefining business processes and changing the future of industries- Understand the jurisdictional advantages of Hong Kong as a leading FinTech hub from regulatory, technology and domain perspectives- Visit emerging startups and companies and interact with seasoned industry executives from the Greater Bay Area (China)- Immerse in a comprehensive entrepreneurship program and build a viable business plan and prototype to present the FinTech idea to a panel of judges and the audience Application by Hong Kong Students Application deadline: April 7, 2023 Please refer to the website of MEFTI for more details.

Fintech Career Accelerator Scheme (FCAS) – Gap Year Placement Programme

Together with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) launched the Fintech Career Accelerator Scheme (FCAS), which is the first fintech internship scheme led by a regulatory agency and a research institute. The scheme aims to cultivate and sculpt the right talents to sustain banking, finance and business services, and retain Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international financial hub. Gap Year Placement Programme Under FCAS, the Gap Year Placement Programme is jointly launched by HKMA, ASTRI, Cyberport, and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. It is a full-time, semester-based internship in which interns will work on fintech projects at HKMA, banks (including virtual banks) or stored value facility operators for six months or one year and receive technology training and regulatory updates.Besides, HKMA partners with the Insurance Authority (IA) to launch a new ‘insurance track’ to broaden the scope of fintech internship offerings to cover the insurance sector, and to allow a slash working arrangement for students to flexibly work for both banks and insurance firms. Key Objectives - To expand the talent pool for the development of the fintech sector in Hong Kong by giving students early exposure to the sector;- To nurture fintech talent by offering practical industry experience through internships; and- To provide opportunities for the industry to identify and recruit young talent. Eligibility - Undergraduates or postgraduates.- Relevant disciplines: Engineering, Computer Science, Sciences, Business & Finance, and Law.- Strong interest and motivation to learn and explore fintech.
