The City University of Hong Kong (CityU) 2020 JUPAS Consultation Week will be held from 25 to 30 May. To avoid crowds, the University will be holding consultations online this year. Students who are interested in enrolling in CityU can learn about CityU’s JUPAS programmes and learning environment while staying at home. During the Consultation Week, over 100 live sessions will be held. A large number of admission consultations will be conducted online, giving DSE candidates the chance to interact with CityU’s professors, students and alumni and exchange ideas. Programme talks will introduce CityU’s JUPAS programmes with lively and interesting themes. For example, Professor Dirk Pfeiffer, Chow Tak Fung Chair Professor of One Health, will introduce how to prevent or stop infectious disease outbreaks. Professor Michael Tsimplis of the School of Law will give a speech on the topic “Hurricanes, floods and heat waves: Can law stop them?” Also, talks on practical information including employment prospects will be held and a number of guest speakers have been invited to share their thoughts. To help DSE candidates prepare for university interviews, videos about practical information about admissions such as selection criteria and interview preparation will be provided on the online platform. Students can experience CityU's teaching and learning environment through online games and virtual tours of campus facilities including laboratories and student residence.

The world has been changing quickly over the past few months due to the pandemic. The outbreak affects all of us, especially those who are in more vulnerable situations. The Faculty is going to host the “SocSci Viewpoint – Covid-19 Talk Series” through the video conferencing platform Zoom. Scholars from different disciplines in the Faculty will give their views on various aspects of the pandemic. There will be Q&A sessions at the end of the talk. Join us to know more about the impact of Covid-19 from the perspectives of social scientists.

During the Info Day, VTC will hold a number of online talks. A Programme Selection Talk will be held on 28 May (Thursday, 2pm HKT), featuring a dialogue between the famed disc jockey Sammy LEUNG and the VTC Education Advisor. Together, they will explain admission statistics and programme selection strategies and discuss the edges of the diversified VTC programmes in academic articulation and workplace development. The Parents’ Talk to be hosted by Hok Yau Club adviser NG Po-shing will focus on post-DSE study pathways and provide tips for parents to help their children deal with the pressure of DSE results release.
