The Hong Kong Taoist Association Ching Chung Secondary School - End = Beginning (Best Overall Performance Prize, Best Musical Interpretation Prize, Most Original Creative Ideas Prize)

End = Beginning (Best Overall Performance Prize, Best Musical Interpretation Prize, Most Original Creative Ideas Prize)

In the course of beginning to end, there are hope and joy, as well as anger and desperation.  Though human beings possess wisdom and technology to turn scrap iron into useful robots, owing to continuous enslavement of the robots, they die one by one at the end and become cool and desolate just as at the beginning.

In the music aspect, the piano is the leading instrument.  We use simple themes with constantly changing playing skills on the violin so as to create different atmospheres.  The first part starts with various timbres of the broom, the xylophone and the violin, showing the energetic movements of the robots and human beings.  In the middle part, the high and low passages create great contrasts and demonstrate the robots are slaved.  Improvisation is commonly found in the finale, where students co-operate well with one another, using large buckets, pipes and computer sound effects to bring out scenes of powerful emotion.  The music of the broom, zheng and the violin ends the whole story with sadness and desolation.
