The International Students Visual Arts Contest of Hong Kong is organized by the Education Bureau in collaboration with Po Leung Kuk. The theme this year is “Capturing Eternity”. The contest aims to encourage more young people to participate in art-making activity in order to develop their creativity.

As photography has become a very easily accessible means of communication, and it is very popular among young people. So that’s why the organiser chooses photography as a medium of expression this year, in order to attract more people to participate in the events and develop their interest in the art.

The organiser received about 2,000 pieces of photographic works from sort of 33 countries and regions all over the world, which is actually a record in terms of number in history for participating in similar kind of art events in Hong Kong. 5 internationally well-known experts in the field of art and photography, including Dr. Keith Wheldon , Prof. Dominic Lam, Mr. Jonathan Thomson, Mrs. Leda Flether, and Ms Wong Wo Bik were invited, and together with the representatives from the organizers, Mr. Cheung Ping Kin, Ms Eve Tam, and Dr. Vanessa Lok-wa Li to select the prizes for the contest.
