Visiting the Historic Sites of the Communist Party of China in the War of Resistance in Hong Kong
The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression lasted for 14 years. It was the longest, largest-scale, and most costly war in terms of sacrifice in which the Chinese people united to resist foreign invasion. During the war, Hong Kong not only bravely participated in the resistance but also leveraged its unique geographical position to fully support the mainland with supplies. It also played a key role in rescuing stranded cultural figures and Allied personnel, making significant contributions.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the surroundings of various related historic sites in Hong Kong have been refurbished. Commemorative plaques and historical information boards have been set up to help the public gain a more comprehensive understanding of the war’s history and the profound significance of its victory.
