The competition covers the relationship between the constitution and the basic law, the basic law and its history as well as safeguarding national security. It comprises the family category, senior primary school category, secondary school category and open category. Participants who have answered all 20 quiz questions in the entry round and successfully submitted their applications will have the opportunity to receive a civic education calendar 2026 by mail while stock lasts. Upon closing of the entry round, those with the best performance in each category will be selected by ballot to attend the quiz final and prize presentation ceremony. Participating students may choose to deliver their speeches in cantonese, putonghua or english. The time limit for the primary section is no more than 1 minute and 30 seconds; and the time limit for the secondary section is no more than 2 minutes.

In view of the launch of digitalised blnst, with effect from june 2025, the csb will no longer organise the paper-based blnst on the same day of the common recruitment examination (cre) in hong kong. The examination format, duration and content of digitalised blnst are identical to those of the paper-based blnst. The only change is that the test would be conducted by computer and the results of digitalised blnst will be issued by e-mail to the candidates in the form of electronic result certificates on the same day as the examination.。 examination schedule digitalised blnst is conducted from monday to friday (except public holidays) at the recruitment centre, general grades office (address: 37th floor, revenue tower, 5 gloucester road, wanchai, hong kong) . There are six examination timeslots per day . Limited quotas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can choose the timeslot for digitalised blnst to be conducted in the coming 8 weeks from the day of application . The earliest date that can be selected is the next working day. Suspension period digitalised blnst has a three-month suspension period . If an applicant is absent from the examination or has not attained a pass result in the examination, he / she can only take digitalised blnst again three months after the date of absence or the date of failing the examination. ...national security law of the people's republic of china was adopted at the 15th session of the standing committee of the 12th national people's congress, and 15 april each year was designated as the national security education day. The national security education day aims at raising public awareness of national security, creating a positive atmosphere of safeguarding national security, enhancing the capacity to fend off national security risks, deepening public understanding of the constitution, the basic law and national security, and fostering a sense of national identity. The 15th of april this year marks the 10th national security education day. The 10th national security education day thematic exhibition was launched on 18 march at the hong kong museum of history, marking the beginning of a series of activities on national security education. The thematic exhibition adopts the national theme of "the 10th anniversary of national security education day: advancing towards more in-depth and effective implementation", reflecting on the development of promoting national security education in the country and the hksar over the years. The exhibition is open to all hong kong citizens from 19 march onwards.
