...national security law of the constitution and basic law promotion steering committee are launching a new round of basic law quiz competition. Entry round of the competition opens from 31 october for application.The competition covers the relationship between the constitution and the basic law, the basic law and its history as well as national security.  there are family, senior primary school, secondary school and open categories.  participants who have answered all 20 questions in the entry round and successfully submitted their applications will have the opportunity to receive a civic education calendar 2025 by mail while stock lasts.  participants with the best performance in each category in the entry round will be selected by ballot to attend the quiz final and prize presentation ceremony.  attendees may have a chance to compete in question sessions for prizes worth up to hk$6,000.

...national security law (nsl), the security bureau (sb) launched the updated nsl online virtual exhibition with enriched content to introduce the safeguarding national security ordinance (snso) which took effect upon gazettal in march this year. Other new additions include the mascot security bear as well as comics and animations with national security as the theme to promote national security education in an interesting and lively way.In addition to the content related to the nsl in the updated exhibition, a new virtual exhibition hall has been added to introduce the features and main offences of the snso. Supplemented with simple and easy-to-understand questions and answers, information in the hall will enable members of the public to understand more fully the legal system and enforcement mechanisms of the hong kong special administrative region in safeguarding national security.The updated exhibition continues to use the hong kong palace museum embellished with chinese cultural elements as its virtual background, with the security bureau's mascot security bear joining to accompany visitors during the tour to enhance their enjoyment. In addition, the virtual exhibition has launched for the first time serialised national security-themed comics and animations, illustrating the importance of safeguarding national security and law-abiding awareness in an easy-to-understand manner. Visitors, especially youth, can also gain more relevant knowledge through mini-games featuring the security bear.There are nine zones in the updated virtual exhibition. Apart from the new content mentioned above, the exhibition covers information on the importance of the nsl, the legal system and enforcement mechanisms, major provisions and effectiveness, the work of various disciplined forces in safeguarding national security, reference materials and the winning entries of the let's join hands in safeguarding national security programme.

...national security law of the people's republic of china was adopted at the 15th session of the standing committee of the 12th national people's congress, and 15 april each year was designated as the national security education day. The national security education day aims at raising public awareness of national security, creating a positive atmosphere of safeguarding national security, enhancing the capacity to fend off national security risks, deepening public understanding of the constitution, the basic law and national security, and fostering a sense of national identity. Eligibility:holders of degree, or a qualification meeting the entry requirement on professional qualifications for civil service degree or professional posts, or university students who will have attained a degree in the academic year of 2023-24 or 2024-25. The olowe includes papers on practical writing (chinese and english) and translation (chinese to english and vice versa). ...national security law test (degree/professional grades) (blnst) tentatively scheduled for october (in hong kong) and december (in cities outside hong kong) this year, and the joint recruitment examination for administrative officer, executive officer ii, assistant labour officer ii, assistant trade officer ii, management services officer ii and transport officer ii (jre) scheduled for december (in hong kong and cities outside hong kong) will be open to persons holding a bachelor's degree, final year undergraduate students (i.E. Graduating in the 2023-24 academic year), and penultimate year undergraduate students graduating in the 2024-25 academic year. The next round of the cre and blnst is tentatively scheduled to be open for application in august (for examinations in hong kong) and september (for examinations outside hong kong) this year, while the jre (for examinations in and outside hong kong) is tentatively scheduled to be open for application in september.
