“Science in the Public Service” (SIPS) is a joint campaign by government bureaux and departments, as well as other organizations to promote their scientific work and application of technology to the provision of services for the general public. A series of public forums and lectures on the theme “20 Years of ‘Science in the Public Service’: Improving Livelihood through Science and Innovation” will be held from August to December on 2026. All forums and lectures will be held at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum. In addition, science exploration activities, site visits, and workshops are also available. Introduction: 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the Science in the Public Service (SIPS) Campaign, with the theme “20 Years of Science in the Public Service: Improving Livelihood through Science and Innovation”. To celebrate the achievements of the past two decades, a Science and Technology Fair will be held at the Special Exhibition Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum from 25 to 27 September 2026, open for free admission to the public. Jointly organized by 18 government bureaux and departments together with collaborating organisations, the fair will showcase the latest applications of science and technology in daily public services through a wide variety of exhibits, science exploration and games.
