The Education Bureau launched the Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) Programme in the 2023/24 academic year in place of Diploma Yi Jin programme to provide an alternative pathway for secondary 6 school leavers as well as adult learners to obtain a formal qualification for the purposes of employment and further study. The curriculum design and content of the new programme have been optimised and incorporated a large number of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) elements, aiming to help students articulate to the VPET programmes and strengthen their employability.
Target Students
The target students of the DAE programme are Secondary 6 school leavers or adult learners aged 21 or above.

Application Method
Full-time Programme: Admissions are usually conducted in phases. Applications to be submitted via the online application system.
Part-time Programme: Part-time students are directly admitted by provider institutions. Interested persons may apply directly to the institutions providing part-time Programme.

Tuition Fee Reimbursement
DAE tuition fee reimbursement provides students with financial assistance in the form of tuition fee reimbursement. Students who fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria can obtain 30%, 50% or 100% reimbursement of the actual tuition fees paid after the end of each school year.
