The Education Bureau launched the Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) Programme in the 2023/24 academic year in place of Diploma Yi Jin programme to provide an alternative pathway for secondary 6 school leavers as well as adult learners to obtain a formal qualification for the purposes of employment and further study. The curriculum design and content of the new programme have been optimised and incorporated a large number of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) elements, aiming to help students articulate to the VPET programmes and strengthen their employability.

Students who fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria can obtain 30%, 50% or 100% reimbursement of the actual tuition fees paid after the end of each school year.
