The “Between Vault and Waters” Sam Po Shue Wetland Conservation Park Management Office (SPS WCP) and Viewing Deck Design Competition invites participants to propose an integrated architectural and structural intervention within the sensitive and serene wetland habitat and distinctive landscape of adjacent working fishponds of SPS WCP, Hong Kong.

The Management Office serves as the entrance point of SPS WCP and the way-finder to future "Gateway to the Wetlands", the visitor centre to be developed under the remaining phase. The architecture shall be site-specific architectural identity that clearly expresses its functions and recognized as a harmonized landmark.

The Viewing Deck should be imagined as a quiet sanctuary and a non-intrusive lens into nature. It is a place of quiet observation, a place of quiet observation, reflection, and ecological awareness. The proposal must balance public access with minimal disturbance to wetland habitats, migratory and resident birds, fishponds operations, and the wider environment.
