To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Recycling Fund, a new and start-up case competition is launched to showcase your innovative solution on recycling. This competition invites students from local higher education institutions to simulate running a start-up company aimed at facilitating the recycling operations in Hong Kong and seeking funding support from the Recycling Fund. Participants will submit a simulated application form for the Solicitation Theme on Projects from New and Start-up Enterprises, demonstrating their entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills. This provides students with a unique opportunity to engage with real-world challenges in waste management and recycling, fostering creativity and strategic thinking.
Let's cherish the precious things in our life, both our beloved family and the great environment, in the Mid-Autumn Festival and ever after! Here are some tips for the Festival so that you could waste less with your family and friends in this warm and gathering season.Donate excess mooncakesEstimate how many mooncakes you need before placing orders, and ask your friends and family if they have any preferences on flavours to prevent waste. If you have excess mooncakes, you may donate them to charity. Here is the List of organisations for mooncake donation.Recycle mooncake boxesTo recycle clean and recyclable mooncake boxes, you shall separate mooncake boxes and other packaging materials, e.g. plastic holders, based on the materials. Then, deliver them to GREEN@COMMUNITY or organisations carrying out relevant collection programmes.Reuse lanternsAvoid buying lanterns of styles easily outdated so that they can be used again next year. Keeping the lanterns for next year can help you reduce waste and save money at the same time. Reference: Hong Kong Waste Reduction Website
