"Science in the Public Service" Forums and Lectures - August 2020

“Science in the Public Service” (SIPS) is a joint campaign by government bureaux/departments and other organizations to promote their scientific work and application of technology to the provision of services for the general public.

In light of the latest situation of the COVID-19, the arrangements for the talks are subject to change. Please stay tuned for the latest updates of our programmes on this webpage.

A series of public forums and talks on the theme “Science in Everyday Life” will be held from August to November this year.

Forum and talks in August are :

(1) Talks: "Physics Spots Pneumonia, and other Medical Applications", "The Latest Development of Harnessing Renewable Energy in Drainage Services Department" and "Regional Air Pollution and LiDAR Application" at 2:30-4:45pm on 22 August 2020.

(2) Forum: "Application of Innovation and Technology in Rainstorm and Landslip Warning Systems" and Talk: "Life Changing 5G Use Cases" at 2:30-4:45pm on 30 August 2020.

The forum and talks in August will be live broadcast only. Please stay tuned on the Hong Kong Science Museum Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hkscm.

All forum and talks in August will be conducted in Cantonese.  Don't miss the chance to enrich your knowledge in science and to better understand the scientific work of various government departments!
