The Hong Kong Flower Show (HKFS) 2026 will be held at Victoria Park from 20 to 29 March, featuring the stock as the theme flower, with "A Fragrant Journey through Hong Kong" as its main theme. The plant exhibit competition, one of the major activities of the HKFS, is now calling for entries. Application is free of charge and will remain open until 16 February. Members of the public are invited to participate. A quota is set for each section of the competition, and entrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.The competition will be divided into 13 sections, including orchid, Chinese cymbidium, potted plant, cactus and succulent, foliage and carnivorous plant, African violet, bonsai-type plant, floral arrangement in Western style and Oriental style, floral art by school children, primary and secondary school potted plant growing/nursing, and a school garden plot competition.Participants can enrol through the HKFS webpage or download the entry form and submit the completed form in person or by post to the Secretariat of the Show Committee of the HKFS 2026 (11/F, Leisure and Cultural Services Headquarters, 1-3 Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin) or by fax (2691 7264) on or before 16 February. Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association is the main organizer of the regional competitions of two most prominent and widely recognized national innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for tertiary students, including, (1) the China College Students’ “Internet Plus” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the Ministry of Education; and (2) the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest organized by the Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.Every year, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre are responsible for selecting the most outstanding projects to represent Hong Kong in the aforementioned national stages, exposing talented Hong Kong students to cutting-edge innovative and entrepreneurship ideas and inspiring them with academic exchange among the brightest students nationwide. Through this eye-opening, first-hand experience, it is hoped that students could further develop their potential, sharpen their presentation and interpersonal skills and become future innovation and entrepreneurship leaders.

The Civil Engineering and Development Department is currently organising the "UnCover the Joy" Manhole Cover Design Competition, inviting the public to showcase their creativity by designing a manhole cover that highlights the unique features of the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area (HSK/HT NDA) and incorporates the area's branding concept and innovative ideas to jointly help build this vibrant new community that is ideal for living, working, connecting and travelling.The competition theme is "Reflect the Vision, Design Highlights, and Branding Concept of the HSK/HT NDA". The public are encouraged to participate. Winning and outstanding entries may be produced into actual manhole covers or displayed at the HSK/HT NDA Community Liaison Centre.
This competition is organised by the National Security Department (NSD) of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF), with support from the Security Bureau, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW), and Sing Tao News Corporation Limited.The competition aims to engage participants in developing creative proposals (for example, by designing a product, organising an event, or planning a study tour) to promote national security. It seeks to deepen their reflection on the close link between national security and everyday life, while disseminating the concept of A Holistic Approach to National Security and the message of “national security is our shared responsibility” throughout the community.
Organized by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, the Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition began in 1997 and has now entered its 28th edition. This annual event has become the largest science competition for schools in Hong Kong, attracting over 400 schools and nearly 4,000 participants each year. The competition welcomes participation from primary and secondary school students, teachers and schools across Hong Kong. Categories include Science Fiction Drawing, Research and Invention, STEAM Teacher, STEAM School.The 28th Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition is sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. This year, a new award, the "Bank of China (Hong Kong) Young Scientist Award," is established to recognize one high school student with exceptional scientific potential. This award offers a cash prize of HK$10,000, selected from the winning projects. The total cash prizes are HK$234,000.
