The placement of interns under the internship programme by the Civil Service Bureau for non-ethnic Chinese students takes into account the talents and subjects studied by the students as much as possible, giving them an opportunity to showcase their competencies and put their academic knowledge into practice.This year, Caicedo Varas Carla Cristina (Cristina), a university student majoring in data science, was posted to the Health Sector Division of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. She was able to apply her academic knowledge to the department‘s AI projects, gaining hands-on experience in the practical application of innovative technology. Cristina highly recommends the programme and says she learned a lot from it. The Civil Service Bureau has launched an internship programme for non-ethnic Chinese students since 2019. Students will be arranged to work in various government bureaux/departments, so that they can participate in government work and gain valuable work experience to equip themselves for their future.Singh Ananya (Ananya), was posted to the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau. She helped with data collation and research work on a variety of subjects and had the chance to take part in activities and work relating to the promotion of equal opportunities.
